For you Moms and Dads, Here is the info you want...
It’s been said that in order to relate to kids, you have to be a kid ... or at least a kid at heart. Dr. Hauser and the friendly staff at Lakefront Family Dentistry are proud of the fact that children of all ages enjoy their visits. It’s a place where kids can be kids, yet feel like adults, because they’re learning to take care of some of their most valuable assets – their teeth and gums.
Dr. Hauser has a child of his own, and he’s been treating children for several years. So, he knows how to care for teeth at every stage of “toothhood.” No matter what age your child is, Dr. Hauser can speak their language and help them understand the value of a healthy smile. It’s his commitment to you and your kids.

Early detection is the greatest cure
It’s easy to help your kids enjoy the benefits of an excellent smile. Bring them to see us as early as age 3. Chances are, everything is fine. But if there is a problem, treating it in the early is the best solution.

As children grow, we monitor the health of their teeth, making room for some and saving space for others – to spare your child the wireworks and you the significant expense of orthodontics whenever possible.

If age 3 seems too early for your child, then looking for the following early warning signs can tell you that it’s time to come see us:

• Thumb- or finger-sucking
• Difficulty chewing
• Excessive gums or “gummy” smile
• Broken or missing teeth
• Open-mouth breathing
• Developing underbite, overbite, or other abnormal bite positions
• Baby teeth falling out too late (by age 5-6) or too early (before 5)
• Overcrowded, spaced or rotated permanent teeth (usually after age 7)

Delivering “no fear” dentistry

We want kids to know that a visit to the dentist is nothing to fear. In fact, we make every effort to ensure that dental phobias never develop, with a caring attitude, soft touch and the most fun a kid can have in a dentist’s chair.

We also encourage kids to stop by our office after school just to visit. We’ll answer their questions and show them all the ways Dr. Hauser makes coming to the dentist a pleasure, not a pain. By associating comfort with dental care, kids are much more likely to take good care of their teeth later on. And they’re much less likely to hesitate to come back for regular checkups.
• Fun intraoral camera exams
• Gentle cleanings
• Tasty fluoride treatments
• Quiet drills, if fillings become necessary
• Educational training on how to take good care of teeth and gums
